With knowledge comes responsibility! Mother Teresa, the leading female altruist of the 20th century, stated at various times that loneliness and the lack of intimacy in Western society are expressions of our poverty. She proclaimed that love begins in our own homes. Our family, partners, children, and friends might suffer from the love that we deny them, whether subconsciously or with full awareness on our part. As much as it is our responsibility to take care of ourselves and our own lives, and as much as it must be our desire to love ourselves and to extend our love to our family and friends, it is also our responsibility to help others and to extend a hand to all human beings around the world that are suffering. The word family in its broadest meaning describes all individuals--all beings that are part of the human race. India and her inhabitants offered me many challenging experiences. It is a graceful country that offers the openhearted visitor many insights and possibilities for self-discovery. I am grateful for all the experiences I encountered in India, a country of immense blessings. To give back to this wonderful place that has blessed me with many fortunes and because it was India and its beautiful people who assisted me on my road to self-discovery, I have established The Colors Fund In-dia to support women worldwide: With cooperation from local Indian women's organizations and concerned individuals, The Colors Fund In-dia aims to finance, equip and build schools. Starting in Tamil Nadu in southern India and extending eventually to the north The Colors Fund In-dia will establish professional programs that help to educate girls, young women, and women of every age. Education is knowledge, and knowledge is power. The ability to read, write, and learn and practice a profession are basic rights fundamental to being self-reliant. The education of women from rural areas as professionals allows young women to become financially independent. The fund is targeting its efforts both to establishing new and benefiting existing institutions that assist, counsel, and nurture girls and women of all ages. We often forget that it is a privilege not a "given" to obtain an education. We often forget that education brings us freedom and choices, especially for the women of today. Many of us are blessed to be born where bounty in educational and social conditions allows us to focus beyond basic human needs. I wish to invite you to narrow the gap between women worldwide: Everybody--every woman--deserves a fair chance to learn and to choose. Let us work together and help our fellow human beings obtain better education and more freedom. It is not our aim to feed people but to enable them to take care of themselves. In most cases, we can learn from Indian women to improve spiritually, to grow as individuals and to enhance our self-awareness. What we can offer in return is our services to improve female education and to offer people greater freedom in choosing where, with whom, and how to live. India taught me many things. Today I am aware that I can give back to a country that is so rich in blessings and beauty. Please join me! Contact us for donations and further
